Overview
Pilkington Insulight10 Phon is Pilkington's acoustic insulating glass unit (IGU) range designed to improve noise control in buildings. Recommended for urban and high-noise environments, it is suitable for facades, windows and internal partitions in commercial and residential projects.

How it works

• Combines panes of different thickness (recommended ~30% thickness difference, e.g., 6 mm and 10 mm) to disrupt sound transmission.
• Uses Pilkington Optilam10 laminated glass with PVB interlayers to add mass and damping.
• Can include Pilkington Optiphon10 laminated sound-absorbing glass with special foil for enhanced acoustic insulation.

Pilkington Spectrum is the referenced performance modelling tool for calculating key IGU properties including light and solar metrics (transmittance, reflectance, absorptance, g-value), centre-pane U-value, sound insulation values, Global Warming Potential (GWP), ultraviolet transmittance and colour rendering index.
