OverviewPilkington Optiphon™ is an acoustic laminated glass designed to reduce airborne noise while maintaining light transmittance and safety. Acoustic performance is achieved by combining glass of various thicknesses with a special PVB (polyvinylbutyral) acoustic interlayer. Multiple product combinations allow tailoring to specific noise-reduction requirements.
Combined use and benefitsPilkington Optiphon™ can be used as monolithic laminated glass or incorporated into insulating glass units (e.g. Pilkington Insulight™ Phon) to deliver combined acoustic and thermal performance. It can be combined with Pilkington solar-control or self-cleaning products for additional functionality.
Features & Benefits- Suitable for internal and external applications.
- Can be single glazed laminated or incorporated in insulating glass units for increased sound insulation.
- Provides a range of noise-control levels depending on configuration.
- Compatible with other Pilkington products for added thermal, solar-control or self-cleaning properties.
- Safety glass meeting impact safety requirements of EN 12600.
- Available in clear or decorative finishes.
- Standard nominal thicknesses: 6.8 mm, 8.8 mm, 9.1 mm, 10.8 mm, 12.8 mm, 13.1 mm; many combinations possible.
- Bespoke configurations available to meet project-specific requirements.
