The Stammplatz chair is originally designed to complement the Stammtisch tables, also by Alfredo Haberli. The design looks simple, but the details reveal the complete opposite: the edge of the seat is subtly slanted inwards, and the back and seat fit together seamlessly for extremely comfortable sitting. The backrest is a typical example of how Häberli likes to draw, endless lines and iconic shapes. And most of all: surprisingly comfortable and including armrests! The Stammplatz chair has been exhibited amongst others in the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern/ Switzerland with the theme “Walk the Line” bridging the way both artists work. Stammplatz was designed in conjunction with the Stammtisch table.
Stammplatz is made out of solid oak with a plywood armrest, in a natural or black oak finish. The seat can be upholstered in a variety of fabrics and leather for additional comfort.
