OverviewLightpipe® is a patented tubular daylighting device designed to capture and transmit natural sunlight into interior spaces via high-reflectivity conduits and diffusers. The system reduces artificial lighting needs during daylight hours and is suitable for industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects.
How it worksSunlight is collected by roof- or wall-mounted collectors (active or passive). The captured light is channelled through a reflective tubular conduit that can include bends to reach target areas. A diffuser at the terminus distributes daylight evenly into the space. High-reflectivity surfaces and optimized collectors enable transmission over long distances, supplementing or replacing electric lighting.
Applications- Pharmaceutical and clean-room facilities
- Offices and production workspaces
- Warehouses and logistics halls
- Religious and public buildings
- Retail spaces and supermarkets
- Greenhouses and horticulture facilities
- Airports, metro stations and railway terminals
Types- Roof-mounted Lightpipe — collectors on the roof; vertical conduits deliver daylight to interior levels, with bends as required.
- Wall-mounted Lightpipe — collectors on exterior walls; horizontal conduits deliver daylight where roof access is limited.
Lightpipe Features- High transmission of natural light using reflective tubular conduits
- Design optimized for long service life and low maintenance
- Heat and UV protection to limit undesirable solar gain
- Leak-proof installation details
- Reduces artificial lighting demand and related energy consumption
- Even interior daylight distribution via engineered diffusers
- Available in roof-mounted and wall-mounted configurations
