It is characterized by a density far superior to most other pines available in Europe (maritime, Scots, etc.), i.e. 730kg/M3, which brings it very close to the density of oak. This makes it particularly suitable for parquet flooring. In addition, on these pine plantations, the practice of gemmage (extraction of resin during the life and growth of the tree) will produce a denser, harder wood, giving this different type of pine excellent characteristics for certain applications such as parquet flooring.
