Overview
The Technics SL-1200GME Master Edition is a limited-edition direct-drive turntable that incorporates a decade of Technics engineering. It features a gold-painted magnesium tonearm, a gold-embossed logo with serial plate and is offered as the Silver model SL-1200GME (limited production).

Master Edition design

• Gold logo & serial plate: Gold-painted embossed logo and dedicated serial number plate for the limited run.
• Gold-finished tonearm: Magnesium tonearm with gold paint.
• Available colours: Silver (SL-1200GME) and Black (SL-1210GME).

Drive technology
Coreless direct-drive motor with twin-rotor construction reduces cogging and bearing load while delivering stable, high-torque rotation. Coil mounting reinforcement follows the pattern used on Reference-class models for improved rigidity and rotational stability.

ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive)
Upgraded ΔΣ-Drive increases PWM carrier frequency from ~2 kHz to >20 kHz, reducing audible noise and suppressing micro-vibrations for improved audio precision.

Multi-stage silent power supply & noise control
The turntable integrates a low-noise switching circuit and active noise-cancelling via inverse current injection. A high-speed switching power supply (>100 kHz) provides stable, low-ripple output and reduced vibration.

Vibration resistance design

• Three-layer platter: Combined brass and aluminium die-cast platter with a rear damping rubber sheet for resonance suppression; total platter mass ~3.6 kg (with rubber).
• Four-layer cabinet: Aluminium die-cast, BMC, heavyweight rubber base plus a 10 mm hairline-processed aluminium top panel for high rigidity.
• High-level balance adjustment: Each platter is factory-balanced and labelled "BALANCED" after adjustment.
• Insulators: New zinc isolators using αGEL™ gelatinous material for effective shock absorption and vibration damping.

Tonearm
Lightweight cold-drawn magnesium tonearm with gimbal suspension and high-precision bearings for high initial-motion sensitivity and accurate tracking.

Circuit board layout
Four-layer PCB separates power and ground lines for motor, digital and LED circuits to improve rigidity and minimize noise. Combined design measures (low-noise switching, active noise cancelling and upgraded ΔΣ-Drive) reduce motor-induced noise.

Eco and packaging
Packaging uses eco-friendly cushioning (corrugated cardboard replacing styrene foam), reducing plastic by ~70% compared to previous packaging. Accessories are consolidated into a single box for improved handling while maintaining protection.
