S 1070 SERIOUS 01 is a table from the JS . THONET signature collection, a collaboration between Thonet and Jil Sander. It reinterprets the tubular-steel classic S 1070 with a tubular steel frame in a glossy titanium look and a tabletop composed of two lengthwise elements that can be configured in single- or two-tone high‑gloss finishes.
JS . THONET – A personal interpretation by Jil Sander
Jil Sander’s JS . THONET collection revisits iconic tubular-steel designs from the late 1920s. For the SERIOUS line, Jil Sander and the Thonet Design Team developed frames with a glossy titanium appearance and refined material pairings including leather and lacquered wood details.
Tabletop and finish options
The S 1070 tabletop consists of two separate lengthwise elements and is available in high‑gloss finishes in graphite black, graphite ruby red, graphite green and graphite blue. It can be specified as a single colour or in two different shades. The B 97 sidetables in the SERIOUS line are available with matching high‑gloss tops or an optional marble top (nero marquina gloss). All JS . THONET products feature the collection name and Jil Sander’s signature engraved on the tubular steel frame.
