Smoke curtain MEGAFIRE EI 60

DESCRIPTION
MEGAFIRE is an automatic fire curtain designed for compartmentation and protection of openings, available with fire classifications EI1-30 and EI1-60. The curtain consists of a three-layer fibreglass fabric with an intumescent coating, seams reinforced with steel wire and wound on an 89 mm steel roller. The headbox and side guides are manufactured in galvanized steel. The system is driven by a 230 V tubular motor equipped with a Special Gravity Fail-Safe System. Control is via the CBM control panel (input nominal 115 V or 220 V; output 230 V). UPS is included in all control panels. Tested to EN 1634-1 and classified to EN 13501-2; CE marking according to EN 16034.

OPERATION

• Activation by SHEV, fire alarm contact, internal fire/smoke detectors or manual emergency buttons.
• On alarm the CBM control panel receives the signal and the curtain deploys automatically at a controlled, constant descent speed, maintaining safe operation even after total mains power loss.
• In case of a false alarm, the curtain returns to standby automatically after the alarm is reset from the main fire management systems.
• On main power loss the UPS/battery backup keeps the curtain fully retracted or operates the system as specified for safe conditions.

FABRIC
The curtain uses a three-layer construction forming a compact, fire-resistant assembly that achieves EI 60 performance without irrigation. Components include an intumescent surface coating and reinforced steel-seamed joins to ensure integrity and thermal protection across the curtain area.

INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE
Headbox and side guides are supplied in galvanized steel for direct integration into masonry or metal frames. The CBM control panel interfaces with building fire detection and management systems. Periodic functional and safety inspections are recommended in accordance with local regulations and EN standards; UPS and batteries require regular testing and maintenance.
