Definition
A trussed beam or girder forms the transition between the truss and the solid-web girder. Less connecting rods are needed, but this generally results in bending stress for the compression chord.
Advantages
Light-permeable
Additional installations (ventilation systems, fire detection systems, electrical installation lines) can be installed at the level of the support structure; this ensures optimum utilization of the available height
A perfect balance between the dead weight and the load-bearing capacity makes it ideal for larger spans (e.g. Messe Frankfurt)
