Cemit

Who we are

Cemit was founded in 1974 from the experience gained by Arcangelo Tonioni in the fields of electronics and automation. The proliferation of goldsmiths in the province of Arezzo in Italy gave rise to a demand for increasingly advanced and professional solutions to protect their places of work. In this context, Cemit became one of the first companies in Italy to specialise in high security, offering state-of-the-art customised and innovative systems.

The automation of industrial processes, the application of alarm systems and the installation of the first automatic gates were just some of the advances that Cemit observed in the sector. Since then, it has successfully perceived its needs, studied the most appropriate solutions and accumulated the know-how necessary to meet the ever-expanding and diverse requirements of companies and individuals.

The history of Cemit saw a decisive develop- ment in 1982, when the company produced its first SIA82/0 security lock to protect goldsmiths from a relentless wave of robberies. This lock, the only one of its kind, was the first on the market to be truly impregnable and resistant to any break-in and it was successfully rolled out across Italy, including in new sectors such as the transport and handling of valuables.

The success of the SIA82/0 lock convinced the company to invest in its Research and Development department to become the designer and manufacturer of new customised, direct and dynamic high security systems. Young, innovative and technological: Cemit’s definitive role in the sector has been established since 1982.

Research and development is one of Cemit’s key strengths, which does not propose standardised solutions but customises its products to suit the needs of individual customers. The company can rely on a technical office that, thanks to the know-how and expertise of a highly-qualified team, innovatively integrates the various electromechanical components, hardware and software to design and implement technologically sophisticated high security production systems.

This enables Cemit to study new solutions each day to confront and overcome security issues, while at the same time guaranteeing a flexible working methodology to design the best operational strategy to ensure effective protection, calibrating it to the needs of every environment and every situation.

Significant investment in research and development has made Cemit a leader in the security sector, offering automated systems with integrated electronics that have established them- selves on the Italian and European markets.

In over forty years of activity, numerous patents have been granted that enhance the company’s reputation and certify the uniqueness and innovation of its production. Cemit currently boasts four flagship products: 1) Sia, a high-security motorised hydraulic lock highly prized by the most prestigious goldsmiths
and by the largest companies responsible for the safekeeping and transport of valuables thanks to its high quality and reliability; 2) Robo, electromagnetic recessed security lock, designed and built specifically for doors and gates where security is combined with aesthetics; 3) QuickBlock, anti-shoplifting system for closing and monitoring display cases, drawers and cabinets of high-tech shops, jewellers, shopping centres and supermarkets; 4) Icarus System, complete control and management system for all type of access. ISNet and ISFinger control panels and readers are able to manage personal electronic keys (RFiD, Dallas iButton, magnetic strip badges, etc.), digital fingerprints, multi-door interlocking systems, time slots, access restrictions, storage and consultation of historical memory.

Cemit’s decades of experience in the security sector has consolidated its position as a company capable of integrating its technology and its products in the most diversified security systems (burglar alarms, anti-theft devices, CCTV, fire prevention, etc.) and in individual automation mechanisms (gates, doors, shutters, etc.), providing integrated, cutting-edge and turnkey solutions.

The company designs customised and technological solutions to secure every environment, for total peace of mind.

The technology is calibrated by Cemit technicians for every single need and can therefore be easily integrated into armoured facilities, security doors, armoured doors, anti-theft systems, interlocking systems and parcel drop boxes.

Thanks to four decades of experience serving a diverse clientele, Cemit has become an expert in solving the particular security needs of high-risk facilities in each sector: companies producing and trading precious metals with locks and access control systems; companies operating in the retail sector with management of access points, services and recognition systems; companies operating in the fashion sector, jewellers, watchmakers and high-tech shops with the QuickBlock system; companies responsible for the transport and handling of valuables with locks and control systems; monitoring and reception units and alarms for private security with Robo and Sia locks in compliance with European standard EN-14846.

Our values

Cemit is one of just a handful of Italian companies that guarantee a complete security chain. From design to installation, each system arises from a careful study of individual environments in order to personalise protection and identify the most effective solutions. Cemit’s activity is divided into four distinct phases:

1) Inspection: direct contact with the customer and knowledge of the environment are essential for planning the project. Cemit does not limit itself to just listening, but offers its customers the expertise of its technical office and forty years of know-how to professionally and seriously confront any problem in the field of personal and property security. All this, of course, while guaranteeing maximum confidentiality;

2) Design: the preparation of a detailed project represents the transition from the fact-finding phase to the operational phase. From security systems to automation mechanisms, Cemit provides concrete answers to protection needs, relying on a wide range of technical and technological components and customising the entire project to the customer’s personal, logistical and economic needs;

3) Production: the in-house production of most of the project’s components represents the real strength of Cemit. Thanks to in-house production, Cemit is able to customise each project through the integration of electromechanical components, hardware and software, resulting in the manufacture of cutting-edge systems that are in step with the times and adapted to every situation;

4) Installation: the last phase of the working process concerns the installation and assembly of the individual components by Cemit technicians, concluding with the final testing of each system to certify its operation and compliance with the project.

Security and peace of mind in the work place are built day by day. The relationship of trust and closeness that Cemit establishes with each customer does not end with the installation but is also guaranteed over time.

As such, the work continues and is reinforced with a professional after-sales service to maintain the efficiency and correct operation of each system. Cemit’s qualified personnel are on hand to remedy any problem that may arise, to update the systems when necessary and, more simply, to periodically monitor and inspect the systems in order to maintain their original performance. As a result, Cemit is always there for its customers.
