An industrial and creative company, Culture iN designed Varian®, a material half way between composite materials and textile.

« For a long time I wanted to change our living spaces, often polluted, with an approach focusing on users looking for well-being: sensorial appeal, respect for health and the environment. A trained engineer, I created Culture iN in 2014 with the ambition of positioning the company as a driving force in the promising sector of biosourced materials. »

Three years of research and development led to the creation of Varian®, a functional, decorative and renewable material. Varian® is intended for the furnishing and interior design markets for homes and transport.

Varian® is entirely biosourced. It is designed with respect for our environment since its impregnation process requires no water or solvent.

Woven with a combination of flax threads and vegetable resin PLA (corn starch), le Varian® is a structuring textile with great ease of shaping: thermoforming, hot folding and bending. The possibilities for cutting, assembly and finishing are identical to those of textile.

Culture iN supports its customers' projects right from the first creation phases through to implementation. A unit dedicated to special projects, composed of a multidisciplinary team, has been set up in-house. Engineer, prototype specialist, designer, textile and composite expert work together to bring the project to a successful conclusion.
