Thermo Chanvre® is the leading European manufacturer of thermal and acoustic insulation made from natural and sustainable hemp fibres. An expert in its field, the company offers a wide range of solutions for thermal insulation of roofs, floors, ceilings, facades and drywall, and for soundproofing floors.
The story of Thermo Hemp began in 1996 when the cultivation of industrial hemp was once again permitted in Germany. Carmen Hock had the idea to develop a new product that would meet her ecological ideals.
In 2003, Carmen Hock bought the production plant in Nördlingen. The following year, the company's distribution and development network was expanded abroad.
In 2005, the entire production was relocated to Nördlingen. In 2007, the company innovated by making the insulation material fire-resistant: the fibres were directly impregnated with soda ash before being assembled.
In 2010, Thermo Hemp Plus ® with a corn starch binder was introduced, and in 2013, the company launched Thermo Hemp Combi Jute ®.

Hemp can help to significantly reduce pollution and CO2 emissions - this is also our fight. Since 2020 Thermo Chanvre ® is part of the Dutch HempFlax® Group, the largest independent hemp producer in Europe. This partnership allows us to buy the hemp directly from the producer, our parent company.
