Who we are

Tectona: an outdoor lifestyle brand

Since its creation in 1977, Tectona has become a leading brand known for its exceptional outdoor furniture. Originally, Tectona specialized in the creation of traditional style teak wood furniture. It was only in 2002 that the brand started to modernize its style by introducing contemporary designs created in a variety of materials selected for their beauty and durability. Combining traditional craftsmanship and the most advanced technologies, Tectona creates its pieces with the utmost perfection, a trait that has become its signature.

Today, Tectona is the leading brand in France in its sector and has established a firm reputation as a maker of high-quality products. For nearly 40 years, Tectona has continued to evolve its collections to satisfy the needs of a loyal and demanding clientele.

Exceptional collections

Tectona offers a complete range of stunning furniture and accessories for an outdoor lifestyle. Ergonomic and comfortable, Tectona products can easily be integrated into any environment: chairs and benches with wide seats, curved reclinable backrests, and welcoming armrests; tables that can be extended in a few easy steps thanks to clever engineering and well thought-out leg structures to maximize comfort; parasols that defy strong winds; and furniture with simplified folding mechanisms… Tectona’s designs combine comfort and aesthetics to satisfy the needs of all users.

Exclusive clientele

The Tectona brand appeals to a sophisticated clientele whose desire is to have a unique, comfortable and elegant outdoor environment. Clients include influential advocates (architects, decorators, landscape designers), luxury hotels and high-end individuals. Tectona furnishings can be found aboard luxury yachts (Phocea, San Lorenzo…) and at prestigious sites all over the world: Le Louvre, L’Elysée (Paris), Mamounia (Morocco), Grand Hyatt (Hong Kong, Seoul), Alrov Luxury Hotels (Tel Aviv), Cipriani (Los Angeles)…

Collaborations with leading designers

When it comes to renewing its collections, Tectona collaborates with renowned designers such as Barber&Osgerby, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Christophe Delcourt, Inga Sempé and Normal Studio. These collaborations infuse new waves of creativity into the brand and enrich its collections of iconic pieces.

Exceptional craftsmanship

Each and every piece of Tectona’s collections has been created with the utmost care by skilled craftsmen. Wood artisans sculpt this material using traditional techniques, basket makers weave resin products, canvas workers contribute to the fabrication of parasols and iron craftsmen give meticulous attention to the creation of wrought iron elements. The work of these talented experts ensures the high quality of Tectona’s furniture.

From teak to painted wood, powder-coated aluminium to stainless steel and woven resin to Batyline® fabric – any material selected by Tectona for the manufacturing of their pieces has been chosen for its ability to endure any type of weather over time. Fully resistant to temperature changes and UV rays, impervious to bad weather conditions and non-deformable, Tectona’s products last for seasons and years proving their durability.

Our values

We only use the best materials, selected for their resistance to external aggressions (UV, temperature variations, rain…). Our teak, selected for its high oil content, is dried then steam-treated to make it rotproof. Tectona also pioneered the use of synthetic materials such as woven resin, which is used around an ultra-light aluminium frame. Powder-coated aluminium, cast or in tubes, combines lightness with robustness and does not rust. With regard to fabrics, such as Batyline and Sunbrella: these are selected for their softness and solidity. All our products undergo rigorous quality control.

Our products are designed to transcend ephemeral fashions. We place great importance on comfort, harmony of forms and elegant materials. Our designers strive to achieve purity of lines, whether creating classic or contemporary models, without compromising usability: wide seats, curved backrests, generous armrests and simple mechanisms for hassle-free folding, storage and transport of furniture.

We employ traditional methods of assembly such as mortise and tenon joints, and we polish wood by hand. We hire the best craftsmen who combine all these traditional techniques to make our products beautiful and durable.

Our unique method of direct distribution, with no intermediaries, allows us to provide outstanding customer service: competitive prices, rapid delivery and personalized after-sales service. All our items of furniture are available and can be delivered within a few days.
