Origin :

Created by two young lovers of present and futuristic lines, ZHED bases the originality of its furniture design on the succession of folds made in a sheet of metal.

Meaning :

Originating from the Chinese term ZHE meaning “the art of folding”, which later gave birth to the Origami in Japan, the only Asian tendency in ZHED is the etymology of its name. From the design to the manufacturing, our furniture is hand crafted and made in France.

Expertise :

Born in the mountains of Auxois, in the heart of Burgundy, ZHED takes shape and life where Julius Caesar and Vercingetorix crossed swords two millenniums earlier. The know-how of the expert hands of our ancestors has been passed from generation to generation, thus extending a regional and secular tradition. Proud of this remarkable legacy, ZHED has a mission to engrave its ancestral secrets in the DNA of its contemporary designs.

French fabrication :

ZHED Furniture pieces are handmade by the expert hands of master French boiler makers.

In their Burgundy workshop, they proceed to cut the sheets and give life to each piece. Fold after fold, the silhouettes come to life...

Finally, the three nishing phases of welding, grinding, and sanding bring each piece a unique and de nitive character. To ensure the indoor and outdoor use of your furniture, ZHED selects materials and paints of the highest quality..

Quality Charter :

The ZHED products are certi ed “French manufacturing.” To ensure the strength of our products, we choose metal sheets with a thickness of 2 to 6 mm, adapted for each piece. The steel used is pre-treat- ed by electroplating or galvanizing, protecting it from corrosion.

Process :

Each piece is cleaned, degreased, passivated, rinsed, steamed, and dried before applying the baked polyester powder paint.

Control :

All our products are inspected before being packed and shipped. Each piece has a certi cate of authenticity stating the serial number and the quality control sheet which appears on the date of inspection and the name of the quality controller.

Durability :

Sustainability is the guiding principle in the development policy of ZHED furniture.
We select all of our suppliers according to strict criteria of quality, sustainability, and respect for humans and the environment.

In this sense, the French fabrication and the know-how of Burgundy boiler makers insure a manufacturing process with high requirements at all levels of metal transformation.

Recycling :

Regarding the paint, a recyclable polyester powder is used: baked without any solvent, it is neither dangerous for the health our staff members, nor for the consumers and the Earth.

ZHED chooses aluminum and zinc steel coating for their resistance, their exibility, and their anticorrosive quality. Thus, ZHED furniture is of high quality which will withstand the test of time. The eco-design of each of our products includes the respect of French fabrication standards and is consistent with the recyclable channels optimized and organized on a worldwide level. In order to keep its word, ZHED joined the eco-organization Valdelia which insures the recycling of furniture.

Re-use :

The fabrication of ZHED furniture is in line with a circular economy aiming at not only minimizing material losses, but also recycling trimmings through a network specialized in recasting and reuse of metal.
ZHED carries most of its furniture in recycled boxes to give a second life to quality packaging.
