A new directionable building concept intended for the efficient use of both passive and active solar energy in an individual home. (International patent PCT 2009000575).
The ECODOMUS design is based on ADESs experience in solar tracking technology applied to photovoltaic generation. The result is a home capable of programmed or voluntary orientation by means of a servo system so that it optimises the energy captured in order to sell the leftover electricity it back to the grid and thus favour self-financing.
Thanks to its orientability, ECODOMUS provides the following advantages:
a) Better use of solar resources by searching for direct sunlight during the entire day or part of the day.
b) Providing shade in the summer and reducing the thermal load of the building, while maximising renewable energy production.
c) Remaining in one or more fixed positions, chosen by the user. For example, to view a landscape.
A pilot building that has been in operation since November 2010 is the basis for the demonstration of the ECODOMUS concept, as well as the possibilities of equipment and interior finishing.
