Description

SOMTUBE® FTF limits hydraulic underpressure when the groundwater is rising and prevents water infiltration into the structure. This solution is recommended for a number of applications : Implementation of a draining mask Implementation of drainage in road structure Implementation of drainage in road structure on compressible soil Implementation of drainage at the rear of mechanically stabilised earth backfill Implementation of drainage under railways For draining masks, SOMTUBE® FTF helps to stop water inflows on natural slopes or embarkments. It replaces the traditional granular draining materials and geotextile filters system. For drainage in road structure and under railways, SOMTUBE® FTF replaces the traditional granular materials and geotextile filters system. It can also be used in flood-proof areas and compressible areas in addition to vertical drains. For the rear drainage of mechanically stabilised earth backfill, SOMTUBE® FTF must be installed to discharge water at the interface between the technical embankment and the existing backfill. Depending on the structure’s construction arrangements (height of the wall, materials available, etc.) there are two possible installation methods for this product : Installation from the bottom of the slope Installation from the crest
