Description

A lightweight and strong solution for open bottom culverts and more. Made from solid aluminum alloy structural plate, corrosion/abrasion-resistant Dur•A•Span, is ideally suited for your saltwater and aggressive soil applications where rustproof culverts or other structures are a desired. Proven in over 15,000 structures internationally Lightweight and strong, Dur•A•Span has proven itself for over 20 years in more than 15,000 structures internationally. Increasingly, these rustproof culverts are chosen over their precast concrete counterparts on overall performance and cost. Design service life of over 100 years That’s because aluminium has a tough, self-healing, oxide surface film that reforms immediately if it is mechanically damaged or corroded in an aggressive environment like salt water or harsh soils. This makes Dur•A•Span corrosion-resistant culverts virtually maintenance-free, with a design service life of over 100 years. Open bottom culverts are environmentally-friendly Dur•A•Span aluminum box culverts are usually supplied as open bottom and are an environmentally-friendly solution, promoting fish passage through the construction period and beyond. Box culverts are used primarily when height is limited and they can accept low cover heights. They also offer generous clearance boxes and hydraulic flow properties.
