Door and window sensors (often referred to as contacts) are an essential part of the perimeter detection of any intruder alarm system. If a protected door or window is opened or breached when the alarm system is armed the sensor will send a message to the control panel to notify of an intrusion. Door and window contacts are available to suit all applications from low, medium to high security as well as environmental applications and are graded respectively according to British Standards. Higher grade contacts tend to have anti substitution defences such as anti-sabotage protection using magnetic interference immunity.
