Description

TRUSS PIPE® is a thermoplastic composite, double-wall pipe with concentric inner and outer walls braced by a truss-type structure. The truss voids are filled with lightweight Mearlcrete for additional stiffness and compressive strength. The result is a semi-rigid pipe that provides 200 psi minimum pipe stiffness and unparalleled deflection – the ideal thermoplastic gravity sewer PVC pipe. Traditional rigid pipe materials can rupture when subjected to non-uniform loading, as they lack the ability to adjust to trench load variations. TRUSS PIPE combines high stiffness with flexibility; allowing it to resist variable loads while maintaining shape control. And with more than forty years of in-service use and hundreds of millions of feet installed, TRUSS PIPE is the unchallenged performer. TRUSS PIPE’s glossy smooth interior with a Manning’s “n” value of 0.009 reduces internal flow resistance. TRUSS PIPE can be installed in variable trench conditions to more than 40 feet and withstand H-20 live loading with less than one feet of cover. Its strength, stiffness, joint tightness, durability, and economy have made TRUSS PIPE the choice for engineers, specifiers, and contractors. Made from thermoplastic PVC - Excellent resistance to chemicals found in sanitary systems, including acids, alkalis, and salts 200 psi minimum pipe stiffness - Unparalleled deflection control Unique double-wall pipe with concentric inner and outer walls braced by a truss-type structure - Flexible; resists variable loads while maintaining shape control Manning’s “n” of .009 - Superior hydraulics; reduces internal flow resistance Watertight joints - Extremely low infiltration rates
