Kyoto Sabbiato: the understanding elegance of the essential!
Kyoto Sabbiato is a collection of forged cutlery (except for the hollow chopsticks) designed in a traditional Japanese style, entirely recyclable, and composed of 15 items in 18/10 (AISI 304) stainless steel with a sandblasted finish. The knives, made of hardened AISI 420 martensitic stainless steel, a material that ensures the blade's sharpness lasts over time, are more sensitive to corrosion.
The sandblasted finish, characterised by a low roughness, is obtained with a micro-abrasive blasting technique: the surface of the steel is treated cold with ceramic beads launched under pressure. The object thus acquires a particular aesthetic impact because reflected light is diffused from the surface.
The main feature is the simplicity of the clean, iconic shapes.
The design developed on the idea of purity and balance between the handle's lightness and the spoon cups' curves. The detail of the engraved ring, the focal point between the square handle and the conical part of the neck of the cutlery, highlights the basic but not banal shape. This interruption element allows further combinations of finishes and colors.
The goal is to have less impact on the environment and raw materials consumption and consider the duration of the product as fundamental. Instead of constantly producing new models, focusing on the surface is more ecological, with an advantage for the planet and the final users, who will have a product of absolute value because it was chosen by themselves.
