The PK23™ is a low-profile lounge chair designed by Poul Kjærholm, combining a slim steel frame with a sculpted wooden seat. The chair pairs minimalist proportions with a contrast of materials suitable for residential and contract interiors.
Design and history
Poul Kjærholm trained as a cabinetmaker at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts and explored industrial materials, notably steel. He began a long-term collaboration with Ejvind Kold Christensen in 1955. After Kjærholm’s passing, the Kjærholm trustees entrusted Fritz Hansen with production and sales of the Kjærholm Collection, which continues to be produced and distributed by Fritz Hansen.
