This is the outdoor Checks Terracotta rug from Garden Layers, a carpet made in mechanical looms with soft polypropylene fibers. Its small checkered pattern mixes threads of orange and earth tones. It can be used in combination with any of the elements that make up the Garden Layers collection, which also includes mattresses, rolls, cushions, beds and side tables made with special outdoor materials and fabrics. This model fits especially well with the small Gofre mattresses, the large Diagonal rolls in darker shades, large Tartan cushions, the Tartan individual Indian beds and the small side tables. However, all of the fabrics in this collection harmonize with each other and can be combined in different ways, generating a layered effect -hence the name of the collection. Garden Layers is part of the GAN Spaces family: collections that begin with a rug as the central design element, around which modules and accessories emerge to create a complete and customizable “space”. Inspired by architectures and customs of Mughal origin, the designs of Garden Layers bear the unmistakable stamp of designer Patricia Urquiola, who reinterpreted Oriental culture and tradition in her first outdoor collection for GAN. The collection has a clear contemporary aesthetic with obvious allusions to its origin, which can be noted in the way it invites you to lie down.
