The Wiegand interface enables a Wiegand-enabled device, such as a code lock, fingerprint sensor or card/transponder reader, to be integrated into the Homematic IP smart home system. This creates numerous possibilities for controlling Wiegand-compatible devices via the free Homematic IP app and combining them with other Homematic IP devices.
SMART INTERFACE
The Homematic IP Wiegand interface enables many Wiegand-enabled devices, such as a code lock, fingerprint sensor or card/transponder reader, to be integrated into the Homematic IP system. Using the Homematic IP app, the Wiegand interface can be set up according to individual requirements and Wiegand-enabled devices can be integrated into a smart system. This makes access to a smart home not only secure but also smart and simple.
INDIVIDUAL CONTROL
The Wiegand interface has eight virtual input channels that can be individually linked to the Wiegand codes. A Wiegand code can control one or more virtual input channels and thus trigger one or more actions (such as switching a switch actuator, opening a door via a door lock actuator or activating/deactivating alarm functions).
AN ARRAY OF POSSIBILITIES
In addition to the Wiegand inputs, the device has an input for connecting a doorbell button, an input for connecting a tamper contact, and a switching output with versatile applications, such as switching an LED or a bell.
