Product summaryPassive Purple X is a fire class B airtight paint and vapour control membrane supplied in a 5kg brush-applied tub. It provides certified reaction-to-fire performance while creating a watertight, breathable and airtight membrane for external and internal applications.
Key features- Raintight but vapour breathable
- Airtight
- UV resistant
- Anti fungus
- Self-cleaning / reduced dirt pickup caused by UV netting
- Crack-bridging
- Carbonation block (for concrete); realkalising (concrete)
- Protection against salts (for roads) (concrete structures)
- Can be used as a protective coating on concrete as anti-carbonation / cement coating
- Coverage: 1 kg will cover 1 m² (approx.)
Tested & Certified- Reaction to fire: Euroclass B-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1, on A1 substrates ≥653 kg/m³) and ASTM E84 Class A (Flame Spread 0 / Smoke 15)
- Watertight: Class W1 (EN 13859-2) & water permeability Class W3 (EN 1062-3)
- Breathable / vapour-open — Sd ≈ 0.6 m (EN ISO 12572)
- Crack-bridging: A3 (23°C) / A4 (-10°C) (EN 1062-7)
- CO₂ / carbonation barrier Class C1 (EN 1062-6)
- Kiwa BDA Agrément (BAW-21-214-P-A-UK)
- Passive House component (phB)

Why choose Passive Purple X?- Cost effective — using an airless spray device one person can cover large facade areas quickly
- VOC free — water-based, no VOCs in the airtight paints
- Easy application — can be applied by airless spray, roller or brush
- External use — provides a super tough watertight vapour control membrane for weatherproofing and UV resistance
- Fire rated — Class B
- Breathable — allows vapour release while ensuring airtightness
Uses and substratesCan adhere to insulation panels, concrete and brick walls, fibre cement boards, engineered wooden panels / OSB panels.
Directions for use- Remove salt efflorescence, dust, loose parts and standing water from the surface
- Apply on a closed surface; if necessary fill holes and joints with a fast setting cement-based product or polyurethane foam
- Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures above 5°C
- Application on humid surfaces allowed, but remove standing water
- Do NOT add water or solvents
- Do NOT apply in full sunlight
- Do NOT apply during rain
- Apply in two layers (airless spray or roller); apply second layer after first has dried
- Clean tools with water after use
Technical & certification notes- Usage: Internal & External
