Overview The voyage through time of Siam continues into what was dubbed the kingdom's "Golden Era", a period of cultural rebuilding after the fall of Ayutthaya in the 18th century. This era is marked by renewed arts and crafts, cross-cultural exchange and the emergence of new shapes, colours and motifs that shaped a refined interior design language suitable for contemporary architectural applications.
Inspiration The collection interprets architectural and decorative details: temple roofs with flowing profiles; ceilings patterned with radiant florals; carved mouldings; glazed tiles; weathered wall textures; and Chinese-influenced ornamentation (as seen in Wat Ratchaorasaram) alongside intimate mural traditions from regions such as Nan (Wat Phumin). These references are translated into textile pattern, surface texture and layered colourways for interior schemes.
Creative Direction "With Oriental Odyssey II, we wanted to capture Siam as a place that is always in motion," explains Creative Director Vichada Sitakalin. "Every detail, from temple murals to everyday objects, inspired the designs of this textile collection. It continues our Spring 2026 direction where pattern, texture and colour bring history and heritage into a contemporary, expressive context while remaining true to Jim Thompson's brand DNA."
