The KB - BLOK system introduces a new series of KLASIK XC rafter filling and bearing walls on the market. These shaped bricks are certified as separate blocks, masonry and walling with excellent acoustic and fire-protection properties. This walling system was the first to be certified as "wall structure" in the Czech Republic. The shaped bricks are produced in sizes of 80, 160 and 240 mm wide. As far as walling is concerned, we recommend using the Special KB - BLOK walling mix system. Only the course joint of the shaped bricks is mortared, the heading joint consists in a groove-tongue joint, free of mortar. The shaped bricks are laid upside-down during walling, which facilitates buttering. Mortar is applied throughout the joint width and the joint is inset with the masonry surface. The joint thickness is recommended as 8 - 10 mm in order to adhere to the masonry elevation module of 250 mm. The shaped bricks can also be laid on construction glue; however, it is then necessary to take a different elevation module of the masonry (approximately 242 mm) into account. Some KB KLASIK XC 80 shaped bricks are provided with a parting groove for easier halving, e.g. with a bricklayer's hammer. Other KB-KLASIK XC shaped bricks The masonry is faced with gypsum plaster and before facing, it is advisable to apply an adhesive coat to the surface to improve the plaster bond to the masonry. The cavities in the shaped bricks are not filled. The ambient temperature must not drop below 5°C during walling and mortar hardening and setting. No frozen blocks must be used for walling.
