TECU® Gold is an alloy of copper and aluminium. The original golden surface starts to mellow and become matt fairly soon after installation and during further natural weathering gradually forming a striking warm golden surface with its very unique characteristics.
TECU® Gold sheet and coil is manufactured in state-of-the-art production facilities according to EN 1652 and KME's own strict guidelines. It is made out of CuAl5 copper-aluminium alloy. This alloy is well-suited to welding and soldering, and is malleable regardless of temperature and rolling direction. TECU® Gold surpasses the requirements of EN 1652 regarding tolerances and the most important material properties. This gives cladding areas their excellent visual appearance.
TECU® Gold offers outstanding resistance to mechanical abrasion, extremely high corrosion resistance as well as exceptional durability, stability and material rigidity. Because of its special material properties TECU® Gold is also ideally suited for large-scale applications.
TECU® Gold can be cold-formed well and is easy to solder. Hard soldering or brazing and TIG welding are not suitable. TECU® Gold is suitable for angle-seam and batten-roll techniques, for self-supporting panels, and due to its particular material properties is very well-suited to large format applications. The surface of TECU® Gold is covered with a film for protection during transportation, fabrication and on-site installation. The protective film should be removed immediately after installation.
