Fascicle 29 of 30 May 2021
NF – 98 335

INSTALLATION
  • Instructions from NF P 98 335 and Fascicle 29 of the CCTG take precedence.
  • Installation is carried out between +5°C and +30°C on a sound substrate.
  • Masons’ mortars should be prepared or supplied progressively to match the installation pace.
  • The bedding mortar is leveled with a straightedge and applied progressively; thickness should be as uniform as possible (~4 cm).
  • Slabs must be dampened, especially during hot weather.
  • When laying, mix products of different colours/shades coming from different batches.
  • Leave joints between slabs. Joints should be filled with mortar no sooner than 24 h and no later than 72 h after laying. Minimum joint width: 5 mm.
  • Movement joints must be provided in accordance with normative requirements (10 m linear or 20 m²).

MAINTENANCE
  • Original colours are very stable; minimal maintenance is generally sufficient.
  • Applying a mineralising treatment will ease cleaning and extend the surface appearance life.
  • High‑pressure cleaners or acidic products are not recommended as they may cause irreversible alterations.
  • De‑icing salts should be used reasonably, avoiding excessive stagnant residues.
