INSTALLATION- Instructions provided by standard NF P 98 335 and Fascicle 29 of the CCTG prevail.
- Installation must be carried out between +5°C and +30°C on a sound substrate.
- Mortars are prepared or supplied as work progresses.
- The bedding mortar layer is levelled with a screed and applied progressively. Its thickness should be as uniform as possible (~4 cm).
- Slabs must be moistened, especially in hot weather.
- When laying, mix products of different colours and batches to ensure uniform appearance.
- Joints are left between slabs; joints are filled with mortar no sooner than 24 h and no later than 72 h after laying.
- Joint width: as small as possible but not less than 5 mm.
- The surface must be cleaned immediately after jointing to avoid residues or films on the slabs.
- Expansion joints must be provided according to normative requirements (10 m linearly or 20 m²).
MAINTENANCE- Products are designed to reproduce natural surface aspects; original colours are very stable.
- Minimum maintenance is required; natural patina develops over time.
- Application of a mineralising treatment will ease cleaning and extend the life of the original surface appearance.
- Use of high-pressure cleaners or acidic products is discouraged due to possible alterations.
- De-icing salts should be used sparingly, avoiding stagnant excess residues.
