A CONCEPT AT THE BOUNDARIES OF SPACE A kitchen concept that explores the theme of the multifunctionality of environments: both domestic environments that alternate the preparation of food with relational aspects, and work environments in which moments of relationship coexist with convivial functions. Thus OFF Kitchen is conceived as an office piece of furniture that hides typical kitchen functions or a home piece of furniture that integrates aspects of smart-working. The design challenge of this concept was the miniaturization of all the technical components that were integrated into the operating table with unprecedented thicknesses. OFF Kitchen was designed by Daniele Bedini, one of the few designers who has approached the theme of ultra-gravitational habitability from a design point of view. The heart of OFF Kitchen is the large dining/work table which integrates the operating functions in an “invisible” mode and which is made up of two elements, one 90 cm high and the other 75 cm. When everything is closed it can be used as a work table, in open mode it becomes a fully functional kitchen. Even the two wall modules can be equipped to integrate kitchen and office functions, set up with appliances, storage compartments and drawers. The aspiration system is designed to integrate into the environment like a pendant light and purify the air via a remote controlled system.
