Fossena Stone or Pietra di Fossena in italian is a North African limestone, also known as Farsena Stone (Pietra di Farsena). The quarries are located in Tunisia and produce blocks which are usually cut in the sense of the veins. Therefore, the Fossena Stone slabs have different colour tones, and they need to be selected in order to guarantee the color consistency for a project. The Farsena Stone has a good availability, and is characterised by its beautiful grey-brown colour, which has a neutral tone that can suits many settings, especially the big outside floorings. Sometimes, the Fossena Stone slabs need to be resined. Another characteristic of this stone, is the presence of white crystals and dark “stains”. Pietra di Fossena can be finished in many ways but it cannot be polished since it does not have a crystalline structure. Finishings:brushed, bush-hammered, sandblasted
