Rouge Griotte is a Belgian marble characterised by the intense red color. Precious white veins and rounded “nodi” are drawn on the surface of the slabs enriching their “weave”. Some of the “nodi” on the slabs are actually fossils of shells, mussels, ammonites. Rouge Griotte is used for floorings, claddings, chimneys, tiles, countertops or other architectural details. The main finishing applied to the slabs is the polished one. The marble Rouge Griotte is also known as Rouge du Roi or Rouge Antique, and was already used during the XVIII and XIX centuries for floorings and claddings for many villas and noble palaces.
