Voltage regulators have been established for many years. These are available as electronic voltage controllers, so-called phase angle control devices, or as transformer-based control devices. Typically, these products are used to control voltage-controllable external rotor motors (asynchronous motors). The advantage of this technology is extremely low investment costs. Electronic voltage regulators are available for rated currents up to 80 A. There are versions for all applications in ventilation technology. Built-in 5-step switches are standard and the products control the motors and fans without generating electronic motor noise. Most ZIEHL-ABEGG external rotor motors are voltage controllable.
