Kesi depicts stylised peonies from an antique Chinese tapestry. The shape of each flower, leaf and branch are printed onto a slubby linen, giving a ‘block print’ effect and a dynamic hand-made quality to the fabric. The metallic overprinting of some of the leaves lends this fabric a modern edge.

Inspired by his fresh take on decoration-as-design, Kvadrat invited the Dutch designer Tord Boontje to apply his modern romanticism to textiles for window covering applications.
Nectar by Kvadrat is one in a series of three patterns developed by Boontje with organically inspired figures. Unique but related, the designs – Eternal Summer, Nectar and Pressed Flowers – can be used individually or in combination to create layered effects. A hybrid of traditional motifs and modern technologies, the series includes hand-drawn patterns rendered as digital prints, burn out sheers, and laser-cut solids. The only computer-generated pattern in the series, Nectar is constructed as a burn-out sheer and emphasizes a pixilated botanical motif trimmed in red.

Inspired by his fresh take on decoration-as-design, Kvadrat invited the Dutch designer Tord Boontje to apply his modern romanticism to textiles for seating applications.
A leading proponent of decoration-as-design, Boontje's upholstery series is comprised of four hand-drawn patterns rendered as digital prints on the non-directional surface of a felted ground. This contrast of craft and technology typifies Boontje's work.
Heaven Scent is distinguished by an exaggerated repeat that stretches on for more than three yards. A stylized botanical motif is printed in a mother-of-pearl pigment to create an undulating, fantastical vine. Heaven Scent is available in three striking color combinations.
A single, naturalistic rose pattern runs through Princess, Prince and Happy. Princess includes the pattern in a fine line, while Prince features a thicker line weight. Both patterns are layered together in Happy contrasting print colors provide added dimensionality.

Collection 2009: An elegant upholstery fabric with tendrils worked in viscose velours. The embossed viscose pattern of Excelsior is bicoloured, with the respectively darker colour creating a kind of shadow image.
