Whether for Smoke Control, HVAC or Solar Control, Colt Control Systems are specifically designed to meet the requirements of the project. Colt can provide all manner of electric, electronic and pneumatic controllers, panels and their necessary ancillaries.
All Colt Control Systems have been designed, manufactured and tested to all applicable Standards.
Programmable Controls include OPV 2000, ICS 4-Link and Soltronic.
Primarily intended for smoke control applications, OPV 2000 incorporates all smoke control equipment into a total addressable smoke control system. Click here for the leaflet (7.5 MB).
ICS 4-Link is a generic control system that can operate HVAC, smoke control and solar shading systems. It has a wide variety of operating modes, including sun tracking, daylight optimisation and PV illumination. The position of the sun is continually calculated by its intelligent processor while internal temperature and lighting sensors send signals to the processor, altering the position of the louvres in conjunction with the present readings. In this way the building can "react" appropriately to the sun's position and to the weather. Remote operation is available via an internal modem interface, and manual control or connection to a client building management system is also possible.
Soltronic is designed for the control of smaller solar shading systems. It is a simplified version of ICS 4-Link which can control up to 10 actuators in any zone. It responds to timers and sensors, and sets the optimum position of the louvres.

The Colt Shadotex system is a unique, alternative solar shading solution. The Shadotex system consists of a special fabric stretched between two sides of a louvre support frame. The fabric is manufactured with a weave to prevent solar glare and solar heat gain. The fabric can also create attractive diffused light and can allow high external vision.
The Shadotex system is given its strength by coating the fabric in a special resin which dries hard. This type of product is extremely lightweight which allows large spans to be constructed without the need for additional supporting framework.
This system offers building designers a unique solution to external solar shading systems.
Features & Benefits
Modern & unique design
Optional fabric choice
High solar absorption
High solar reflection
Lightweight construction - ideal for large spans
Good external vision

Colt Shadoglass is a fixed or controllable external glazed solar shading system (glazed louvre system) that may be installed either vertically or horizontally in front of the façade.
This louvre system is also suitable as a primary or secondary facade element for ventilation.
It may be combined with other Colt products such as rooflights and glazed facades. Also Coltlite for glass louvre - natural glass louvred ventilators - could be of interest to you.
A Shadoglass controllable or fixed glass louvre shading system can reduce solar heat gain, lower air conditioning running costs, and lessen glare whilst maximising the use of natural daylight.
Shadoglass glass louvre shading systems are operated by linear actuators that have the capability to operate complete facades. The glass louvres are available in various colours, surface finishes and coatings to meet specific design requirements. Photovoltaic cells may be integrated into the glass louvres so as to obtain further energy benefits.
Please also see our Gallery and Projects pages for further impressions.
Types available
There are five standard systems in the Shadoglass range. The leaflet (pages 4-14) provides further information.

Colt Solarfin is a fixed or controllable external solar shading system that may be installed either vertically or horizontally in front of the façade.
It may be combined with other Colt products such as rooflights and glazed facades.
A Solarfin shading system can reduce solar heat gain, lower air conditioning running costs, and lessen glare whilst maximising the use of natural daylight.
With over 20 standard profiles, fins are available as one-piece extrusions in widths up to 400mm and as multiple clipped together extrusions in widths up to 1050mm.
The Colt Solarfin system comprises a series of extruded aluminium fins mounted into a support frame. The fins may be fixed at any angle and can rotate under motorised control. Fins are available as one piece extrusions in widths up to 400 mm and as multiple clip together extrusions in widths up to 1050 mm. Spans can be up to 6m without intermediate support and up to 10m with intermediate bracing rods. Fabricated and perforated fins are also available.
Colt has a wide range of standard profiles but bespoke profiles and designs can be developed on larger projects.
All principal components are manufactured from extruded aluminium alloy type 6063 T6 with stainless steel fixings. Controllable fins can pivot through 120 degrees and can be controlled by astronomical data operating the actuators to track the path of the sun.

DESCRIPTION
Among the building covering solutions available, the Atena Sunscreen staves are especially suited where local screening of direct light is required. Different effects can be obtained as desired, depending on the inclination of the crosspiece used.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
External covering with ATENA SUNSCREEN type staves, obtained form profiling of aluminium strips pre-painted on one or both sides, thickness 6/10. Inclination of the staves at45°, 30° or 20° is provided by the various selection of support crosspiece realised by profiling of special aluminium alloy strips with a thickness of 10/10, painted white on both sides.

STOCKAL® is the Novelis brand name for its aluminium sheet pre-painted with polyester based liquid paints. STOCKAL® is eminently suitable for use in the building industry, especially for façade cladding and window flashings. The wide range of colours and the extraordinary workability of the aluminium substrate make STOCKAL® the most versatile material produced by Novelis.
STOCKAL® is characterised by an extraordinary degree of workability. Thanks to its chemical and mechanical characteristics, due to the combination of an EN AW 5010 alloy and polyester based liquid paints, STOCKAL® can be easily worked using the main mechanical working processes: bending, drilling, milling and cutting; these are only part of the standard working processes for STOCKAL®. The use of a special protective liquid coating on the reverse side also makes STOCKAL® suitable for gluing and bonding.

Brise Soleil
The Reynaers BS (Brise Soleil) system is an aesthetic and practical solution for nearly all new and existing buildings. It is available as a standard system or tailored solution. Brise Soleil is the general designation for a louver system that is secured to the outer façade and protects against heating and glare. BS systems are a budget-friendly way for architects to integrate more design modules into their designs and give their buildings that extra oomph. BS systems are available in various dimensions and types of fixed and moveable slats.

Lockline aluminuim screens enhance privacy as well as security in a myriad of applications both inside and outside the home. The modern stylish look of Lockline lends itself to today's designs and a wide range of finishes are available. Mill finish lends itself to the industrial look however where a softer look is required anodising and powder coating are both available. Powder coating is available in an extensive range of colours for both internal and external applications. With a range of options of aperture sizes and panel depths Lockline has proven its versatility in a wide variety of projects. Designed to reduce the effects of direct sunlight on a building façade Lockline sunscreens reduce energy consumption while at the same time providing a near uninterrupted view of the surroundings. Approximately one third the weight of an equivalent steel profile, Lockline aluminium sunscreens offer construction savings as they can be installed easily without the need for bulky support structures.
Lockline sunscreens can be installed vertically, horizontally or at any angle in between. When installed horizontally it is possible for the sunscreen to provide a dual role as both sunscreen and as a walkway for maintenance access or for window cleaning. Vertical screens on the other hand can be used to hide unsightly areas around the building including bin storage areas, plant and equipment locations and vehicle access ways. Lockline screens can be manufactured in individual panel sizes up to a maximum of 6m x 1.2m. Larger areas can be achieved by joining edge bars or extending the swage bars.
