Latermix Beton 1400 is bagged structural lightweight concrete, with a compressive strength of 25 MPa which, thanks to the Laterlite Expanded Clay content as a substitute for traditional aggregates, allows a weight reduction of at least 1000 kg (1 tonne) per m3, with a density of 1400 kg/m3 compared to 2400/2500 kg/m3 of a traditional concrete, i.e. 40% lighter, very useful in renovation and in the construction of lightweight structures(wood, steel, etc.).
Thanks to its low thermal conductivity compared to traditional concrete, Latermix Béton 1400 is also an “Insulating Structural Concrete” bagged, very useful to avoid thermal bridges in the building envelope.
Based on special expanded clay, with a medium / fine grain size, Latermix Béton 1400 is ready for casting on site, after mixing with only water, and with a simple and traditional method of application.
FIELDS OF USE
Structurally strengthening existing floors (in timber, steel, or concrete) by means of the composite floor construction (concrete slab overlay with connectors)
New structural floors (steel + concrete or timber + concrete composite floors, concrete floor slabs, etc.)
Strengthening and stiffening loadbearing masonry (edge beams, columns, etc.)
Reducing thermal bridging in the structural elements of a building envelope
For fair-faced concrete applications, see Latermix Béton 1600.
Structural strength
Latermix Beton 1400 is a true structural concrete of class LC 20/22 (Rck 25 MPa – 250 kg/cm2) that can be used for loadbearing RC structures compliant with EN 206 and Eurocode 2.
