Overview
The A3M pedestal is a dedicated support for badge readers used in vehicle access control with motorised lifting barriers. It positions readers upstream of the barrier at heights suited to drivers of light and heavy vehicles, enabling badge presentation without leaving the vehicle. The A3M is suitable for corporate sites, public facilities and construction sites.
Integration with barriers
In complete vehicle access solutions the motorised lifting barrier controls vehicle entry while badge readers must be positioned so users can badge from their vehicle. The A3M pedestal is installed upstream of the barrier beam to provide reliable and convenient reading operations.
Double-height configuration
The A3M is designed to accept two badge readers: one at mid-height for light vehicles (cars, vans) and one at upper height aligned with the cab window of heavy vehicles. A single pedestal therefore enables easy badge reading for all vehicle types.
Construction and compatibility
The composite front panel avoids attenuation of proximity badge reader range (unlike metal enclosures that can interfere with RFID). Aluminium side profiles provide structural rigidity and a modern appearance. The pedestal can also accommodate intercoms, videophones and biometric readers.
Finishes and installation
Designed for permanent installations in companies, public administrations and parking access. Available in multiple RAL colours for visual integration; an inox finish (MATTSPOT) is offered on a dedicated model.
Control systems (complement)
In addition to RFID badge reading, the lifting barrier can be operated from a control console (push buttons) and fitted with an emergency mushroom stop that immediately halts the barrier beam in case of urgency.
