Product overviewACO StormBrixx® is a modular block rigole system composed of hollow plastic units used as an underground infiltration and retention installation. It combines infiltration and retention in a single system, relieves sewer networks, supports groundwater recharge and frees surface areas for other uses. In combination with upstream channel and pre-treatment stages, stormwater can be captured, treated and returned to the natural water cycle.
System lines- Available in two main lines: MultiBrixx and PowerBrixx.
- Both lines are rated to load class SLW 60.
- Differences in installation depth: MultiBrixx up to ≈4 m, PowerBrixx up to ≈6 m depending on configuration.
- Full or half-layer executions possible; stackable base elements reduce transport volume.
Installation options- As an infiltration system: the rigole is wrapped in geotextile to allow treated rainwater to infiltrate the subsoil over a broad area and promote groundwater recharge.
- As a retention system: the rigole is lined with a waterproof membrane to store rainfall underground and release it in a controlled manner to the sewer or receiving watercourse.
Product variants & technical data- MultiBrixx 900 – height 1 layer: 924 mm; storage volume per layer: 656 l; storage coefficient: 97%. Suited for large-volume installations.
- MultiBrixx 600 – announced (coming soon).
- PowerBrixx 600 – height 1 layer: 614 mm; storage volume per layer: 426 l; storage coefficient: 95%. DIBt approval available; shallow surface installation possible due to low build-up height (from ≈330 mm).
- PowerBrixx 900 – height 1 layer: 920 mm; storage volume per layer: 650 l; storage coefficient: 97%. DIBt approval; suitable for very deep installations.
Stability, maintenance and inspectionThe system architecture with stackable base elements and a keyed connection system provides high stability and structural strength. Installation in bond, inter-layer connectors and continuous access enable inspection and flushing in both longitudinal and transverse directions; the entire rigole volume is inspectable and maintainable.
Logistics & handlingBase elements, side walls and covers are optimized for stacking and halve transport volume compared with conventional systems. This reduces transport costs and CO2 emissions and speeds up on-site installation.
Manhole configuration and TechCubeAn adapter for manhole construction provides direct economical access to the rigole; top parts are rotatable and telescopically adjustable (±30 mm) and watertight to about 0.5 bar. New: ACO StormBrixx® TechCube – an accessible technical chamber for all construction heights, pipe connection up to DN 600, usable as a throttling or pump chamber for maintenance and connections.
Documentation and applicationBrochures as well as detailed installation and maintenance manuals are available for planning and installation. A planning tool (ProjectManager) and guidance on pre-cleaning, throttling systems and connection variants support norm-compliant and economical design.
