Inspired by his study of aerodynamics as well as his close observations of nature, Prof. Luigi Colani developed his own trademark organic design language as well as his rather unconventional ideas. At the end of the 1960s, this freethinker had a tenure at Kusch+Co, designing his first seating that still hold the same fascination today as it did back then. After the relaunch of his lounger TV-relax as well as the matching side chair, the Colani Collection is enjoying a successful renaissance. The flowing design language, moulding to the body, as well as the soft, round shapes characterize both variations. Not only do they hold the appeal of an avant-garde sculpture, the Colani Collection variations add pizzazz to prominent public spaces, such as museums, hotels or lobbies, without forgetting exceptional housing developments. They are designed for relaxation, add some playfulness to functional environments, and exude a stylish atmosphere. On top of this, the Colani designs are still much-coveted collectibles: e.g. the lounger is a mainstay in the permanent collection of the modern art museum in Munich, the Pinakothek der Moderne.
Reminiscent of the 60s. From 1968 until the beginning of 1969, Prof. Luigi Colani was
employed as in-house designer at Kusch+Co. The seating he designed in this period
appeals with its unique use of organic forms. His creations still hold the same fascination
today as they did back then. His legendary lounger TV-relax as well as the matching easy
chair are enjoying a renaissance since their relaunch.
