A hand-moulded facing brick with the typical outdated view
The Old-Limburg is a hand-moulded facing brick from the Classico range of Nelissen Brickworks. The surface of this facing brick is orange. The colour shades of this brick vary from orange to red wine combined with marl colours and blue nuances. The typical outdated view is obtained by treating the wet unbaked bricks with various admixtures. The way Nelissen Brickworks lets the shaping happen in the specially designed hand-moulding equipment ensures an extremely close resemblance with real recuperated bricks, combined with the same physical characteristics as the other bricks from the extensive range. The bricks have a rough structure and an irregular shape.
The Old-Limburg of Nelissen Brickworks is made from Löss from Limburg, extracted from the plateau of Kesselt in the Meuse valley and revalued with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel. The facing brick is non-perforated and sanded on five sides. The Old-Limburg is provided with an oblong sloping groove on one flat side. The baking process is done in a gas-fired tunnel kiln under a slightly reducing atmosphere.
