Solutions for decentralized infiltration
Infiltration refers to the controlled introduction of runoff into the ground via engineered systems. Urbanization increases impervious surfaces from buildings, parking lots and roads, which can overburden sewer systems and raise flood risk. Decentralized infiltration systems are often required for sustainable rainwater management. Only uncontaminated rainwater should be discharged into an infiltration system.

The AQUABOX in detail
Aquabox is a modular element with a hollow, truncated-cone geometry manufactured from virgin or recycled polypropylene (PP) to create underground infiltration trenches. Elements are delivered stacked, assembled on-site and installed. Modules are interconnected with specialized coupling elements. High mechanical strength enables installation in urban, industrial and commercial areas. Installation beneath trafficked surfaces is permissible (rated for SLW60 loads) when specified installation guidelines and minimum cover depths are strictly observed.

Inspection and maintenance
The internal geometry of the modules makes the system accessible for inspection, maintenance and cleaning. The elements allow entry of a self-propelled camera crawler, enabling video inspection of the infiltration trench in all directions and on all levels. Special inspection modules (Aquabox CUBE) facilitate inspections and permit multi-layer trench designs. A stack of four Aquabox CUBE elements equals 80 cm in height, equivalent to a stack of two standard Aquabox elements.
