MIRASTAR® is a coated mirror-effect glass produced by magnetron deposition of metal oxides onto transparent PLANICLEAR® float glass. It provides high reflection levels creating contemporary mirror effects: depending on lighting conditions it can appear highly reflective (mirror effect) or transparent (open vision glazing). MIRASTAR® enables privacy control through one-way transparency and delivers unique decorative and luminous effects.

Applications

• Frameless mirrors: temperable, suitable for fully glazed and unframed mirror doors and partitions; can be thermally toughened to meet safety requirements (including transport: trains, buses, ships).
• Exterior decoration: not intended as vision glazing for exterior windows, façades or entrance doors but usable outdoors for decorative elements (spandrels, balustrades).
• Kitchens & bathrooms: resistant to humidity and corrosion, withstands cleaning products; suitable for high-humidity areas including marine environments.
• One-way/observation mirror: permits view from one side without being seen from the other under appropriate lighting conditions.
• Shower screens: with appropriate lighting and after tempering, offers full-height aesthetic and privacy shower enclosures.
• Doors, partitions, space dividers: innovative solution alternating reflection and transparency for original interior layouts.
• Furniture and appliances: used to create internal lighting effects in cabinets or on appliance fronts (oven doors, illuminated furniture façades).
• Infinity mirror: enables infinite reflection effects thanks to its mirror/transparency properties.

Available in formats adapted for processing (PLF), it can be cut, shaped, laminated and tempered as required for safety.

Processing and installation
The MIRASTAR® range is designed for multiple processing operations (cutting, edging, laminating, tempering). Installation must comply with applicable safety standards and regulations. Optical characteristics may be slightly altered after tempering.
