Description

The emergency egress door shall be Model MTA as manufactured by U.S.F. Fabrication, Inc., with the size being specified on the plans. Covers: 1/4” [6.4mm] aluminum diamond plate cover reinforced for 300 psf pedestrian live load with flush lifting handles. Covers shall be equipped with 316 stainless steel hold-open arms with red vinyl grips that automatically hold covers in their upright/open positions. Also bolted to underside of covers are aluminum pipe handrails, and a safety chain on the non-exit side. Frame: Extruded 3/8” [9.5mm] aluminum trough section with integral anchor flange on four sides. Frame has an EPDM odor reduction gasket and a 1 1/2-inch threaded pipe coupling. Hinges: 316 stainless steel hinges and tamper resistant bolts/lock nuts. Security: The covers shall be held down by four 316 stainless steel slamlocks which are connected by cables to an interior push-bar latching mechanism. Also, for street access to the latching mechanism--a stainless steel pull ring will be secured inside an oversized recessed padlock box with hinged cover. Finish: Aluminum covers and frame have a mill finish which is protected during shipping and installation by an attached adhesive-backed vinyl material. Installation: Installation shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Warranty: The hatch shall be manufactured in the United States. Manufacturer shall guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten years.
