Where is it used? Ampacoll Flexx Pro airtightness tape is designed for external and internal use and is ideally suited to taping laps and joins in membranes, particularly where the membrane is laid directly on to soft insulation. Because of it’s elastic nature, it is great for sealing around pipes and wires and can be used for taping sole plates to slabs/screeds. Yes, you can use it in temperatures all the way down to -5°C. No, the surfaces must be clean and dry. If they are dirty, use the Ampacoll Primax Primer. Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of dust before the tape is applied. Membranes should not have wrinkles in them, particularly with very stiff membranes and the tape should be gently smoothed out with the Ampack Pressly spreader once in place. On lightly textured boards like OSB a the Ampack Pressure Roller should be used to firmly press the tape into position. When taping OSB or similar boards do not apply in hot/strong sun as it can cause the tape to wrinkle.
