BKF CHAIR IN COWHIDE
Made from bovine hides from Brittany, France, tanned with vegetable extracts of mimosa and quebracho. In the Barcelona workshop, the cover of our BKF chair is hand-sewn with German Gütermann threads. The master craftsman combines the use of triple feed head machines and hand stitching to achieve the highest level of detail. This cover rests on a 12mm diameter solid steel frame, hand polished and painted in black epoxy.
bO “KURCHAN”
Juan Kurchan is one of two Argentinians, part of the trio of fathers of the BKF Chair. An architect and designer who would become one of the mentors of the Modern Movement in Argentina and begin a rupture of the traditional trends up to that moment, giving way to a new cycle starting in the first decades of the twentieth century.
Right after finishing his studies at the University of Buenos Aires, he decided to move to Europe with his friend Jorge Ferrari Hardoy, where he completed his studies in Le Corbusier. It is precisely at this moment when both Argentines would meet the Spanish Bonet, uniting the trio of geniuses that made this unique piece.
