BKF CHAIR IN DYED NORMANDE COWHIDE
Made from bovine hides from Brittany, France, tanned with vegetable extracts of mimosa and quebracho. In the Barcelona workshop, the cover of our BKF chair is hand-sewn with German Gütermann threads. The master craftsman combines the use of triple feed head machines and hand stitching to achieve the highest level of detail. This cover rests on a 12mm diameter solid steel frame, hand polished and painted in black epoxy.
bO “FERRARI”
Jorge Ferrari Hardoy was an architect and designer born in Buenos Aires, one of the two Argentinians that form part of the trio of creators of the mythical BKF chair.
He is one of the fathers of the Modernist movement, a combination of trends that would break the architectonic tradition known until then, giving birth to the new modern architecture that would take its first steps in the first decades of the twentieth century.
The Butterfly chair is, therefore, an essential part of this revolutionary design movement. It is the result of the eruption of thinking, ideas and trends that these fathers of the Modern Movement brought about.
