BKF CHAIR IN DARK BROWN WAXED LEATHER Made from bovine hides from Brittany, France, tanned with vegetable extracts of mimosa and quebracho. In the Barcelona workshop, the cover of our BKF chair is hand-sewn with German Gütermann threads. The master craftsman combines the use of triple feed head machines and hand stitching to achieve the highest level of detail. This cover rests on a 12mm diameter solid steel frame, hand polished and painted in black epoxy. bO “BKF” Bonet, Kurchan and Ferrari: together, these names make up BKF, the trio of creators of the mythical Butterfly chair. All the architects met in Paris, where they worked for Le Corbusier. Later they would move to Argentina, where, during the first year of founding El Grupo Austral, they gave birth to this new project, the BKF chair. Its design ended up being an icon and reference point for the industry, having reached a deserved spot in the MOMA in New York.
