Heat insulation system supplied in rolls or panels consisting by expanded polyurethane covered on both sides by saturated fibre glass and coupled an elastoplastomeric bituminous membrane with glass fibre or non-woven polyester reinforcement.
The general physical and chemical properties of the expanded polyurethane are:
• fire-retardant;
• excellent thermal insulation;
• excellent mechanical resistance to compression;
• fungal, insect and bacteria attack resistant.
It can be fixed using molten oxidised bitumen for a quantity of 1.5 kg/m2 or using mechanical fasteners, generally a minimum of 5 fasteners per square metre should be used, or by torching the vapour barrier and sticking the insulation material to the molten compound if a gravel layer or similar ballast will be used.
