Installation
  • The indications provided by standard NF P 98 335 and the CCTG leaflet 29 prevail.
  • Installation is carried out between +5°C and +30°C on a sound substrate.
  • Mortars are prepared or supplied as the work progresses.
  • The mortar bedding is leveled with a straightedge and laid as work progresses. Its thickness should be as uniform as possible (~4 cm).
  • Slabs should be moistened, particularly in hot periods.
  • When laying, mix products of different colours or shades from different batches.
  • Joints are left between slabs. Joints are filled with mortar not earlier than 24 h and not later than 72 h after laying. Joint width should be as small as possible but not less than 5 mm.
  • Immediately after jointing, the pavement must be cleaned to avoid any film or deposit on the slab surfaces.
  • Expansion joints must be provided in accordance with normative requirements (10 m linear or 20 m²).

Maintenance
Original colours are very stable. Minimal maintenance is required; patina will develop naturally. Applying a mineraliser will facilitate cleaning and prolong the original surface appearance. Use of high-pressure washers or acidic products is discouraged (risk of irreversible alteration). De-icing salts should be used sparingly, avoiding excessive stagnant residues.
