Teak has a very clear grain and a waxy surface. The semi-ring-porous increment zones of the wood result in a clear striped or figured grain. Sometimes light-colored contents can be seen in the vessel lines. Isolated occurrences of dark brown to black stripes or figures liven up the colors and structure. The overall character of this very vibrant design is warm, thanks to the wood's yellow to dark golden brown color.
